The African lion was my first commission. It is a watercolor on paper which took approximately fifty hours to draw and paint.
It was commissioned by Susan M., a good friend who went on a safari with her son Jonathan (a Marine Captain) just before he shipped out for Afghanistan. They still argue over who actually took the photo. It doesn't matter to me, as it is one of my favorites.

My Art
Brussels 1969 |
In spring of 2010, I sold the family business and returned to my passion of watercolor painting.
This painting is from a photograph I took in Brussels in 1969. It was always my favorite photograph. It had a certain feeling to it with the policeman looking at the adoring flower market lady.
I've begun my second career, and am excited to share it with you.
